Introduction:- The Department of Skill Development and Employment, Government of Uttarakhand holds three wings wiz. Training Wing, Employment Wing, Skill Development Wing.
The Department is managing 152 Government ITIs under the Training Wing, 23 Employment Exchanges under the Employment Wing, and short-term skill training through Uttarakhand Skill Development Mission. A significant role is being played by the department in bringing about quantitative and qualitative improvement in the Training and Employment eco-system in the State.
Vision:- To empower the youth of Uttarakhand by creating a dynamic and inclusive ecosystem for skill development and employment, thereby transforming the state into a leading hub of skilled human capital that meets both local and global industry demands.
Mission:-
- To provide high-quality vocational and technical training through Government ITIs and other training schemes aligned with national standards.
- To enhance employment opportunities by connecting job seekers with suitable employment through well-networked employment exchanges and career guidance services.
- To implement market-relevant skill development programs under the Uttarakhand Skill Development Mission, focusing on the holistic growth of underdeveloped sectors and marginalized communities.
- To foster industry linkages, promote apprenticeship, and ensure real-time exposure to industrial practices for sustainable and inclusive workforce development.

- To promote vocational and technical training across the state through a strong network of Government ITIs.
